Bartholomew J. Dalton

The founder of Dalton & Associates, P.A., Bartholomew J. Dalton focuses his practice primarily on personal injury and wrongful death litigation, and his experience extends to civil rights violations and white collar criminal defense as well. He represents clients throughout the state of Delaware from the firm’s office in Wilmington. A 1977 graduate of the University of Tulsa College of Law, Mr. Dalton has been admitted to practice in Delaware since 1978. He is also admitted to practice in the District of Columbia as well as before the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 3rd Circuit.

Mr. Dalton’s personal injury client base is made up of people who have been harmed as a direct result of the negligence of other parties. A large portion of his caseload consists of medical malpractice claims, but he has also handled incidents arising out of defective products as well as truck and other motor vehicle crashes. During his distinguished career, Mr. Dalton has been able to receive millions of dollars in compensation for his clients through both jury awards and negotiated settlements, and this has earned him a great deal of recognition from his colleagues. His honors have included an AV Preeminent* peer review rating through Martindale-Hubbell and a 10.0 “Superb” peer review rating through Avvo. In addition, Mr. Dalton has been selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America in several consecutive years.

After law school, Mr. Dalton joined the Delaware Department of Justice, where he served first as a deputy attorney general and then as the chief deputy attorney general before entering private practice. He is a member of the American College of Trial Lawyers and several other professional groups.
