Keith Horner is the founding and managing attorney of Horner Law, LLC, located in Wilmington, Delaware. Since opening the firm in 2013, he has dedicated himself to serving the legal needs of individuals, families and small businesses throughout the local community. His practice spans several interrelated areas – divorce negotiations, property division, child custody and visitation, guardianship, real estate transactions and criminal defense.
A native of Delaware, Mr. Horner earned his Juris Doctor from Widener University Delaware Law School in 2010, graduating with pro bono distinction. During law school, he volunteered with the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program to help low-income families navigate the tax system, and he taught financial literacy to children through the Bank of America Financial Literacy Program at Wilmington’s Latin American Community Center.
Mr. Horner’s commitment to academic excellence and mentorship was recognized by his appointment as an academic support fellow for first-year students, and he distinguished himself in both the Moot Court Honor Society and the Moe Levine Trial Advocacy Honor Society, where he received the Outstanding Member Award in 2008.
Upon licensure in Delaware in 2010, Mr. Horner gained early courtroom experience as a judicial extern to the Honorable M. Jane Brady of the Superior Court of Delaware. He then joined a Wilmington family law litigation firm as an associate, where he honed his skills in contested custody and divorce proceedings for 18 months.
Seeking to broaden his litigation practice, Mr. Horner spent the next two years at a commercial litigation firm in New Castle, handling complex civil disputes for corporate clients. Through these roles, he developed a deep familiarity with Delaware’s entire judicial system – from the Justice of the Peace Courts and the Court of Common Pleas to the Superior Court, the Court of Chancery, and, ultimately, the Delaware Supreme Court.
In founding Horner Law, LLC, Mr. Horner sought to combine his diverse litigation background with a client-centered philosophy. He believes that every case demands not only legal expertise but also clear communication and strategic planning. By carefully balancing assertive representation with pragmatic solutions, he ensures that his clients understand their options, control costs and move forward with confidence.
