With over two decades of experience in the legal profession, William R. Stewart III is an attorney at Pratcher Krayer LLC in Wilmington, Delaware. Serving clients with personal injury and workers’ compensation claims, he handles matters involving construction accidents, medical malpractice, motor vehicle accidents and trucking accidents.

Mr. Stewart graduated from La Salle University in 2001 with a bachelor’s degree in political science, after which he gained his J.D. from Widener University Commonwealth Law School at Harrisburg, Pennsylvania in 2004. While in law school, he worked as a summer law clerk at the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office, where he was involved in misdemeanor trials and preliminary hearings in both Municipal Court and Family Court. This initial exposure to trials laid a foundation for his future practice. He was admitted to the Delaware State Bar Association in 2007 and was permitted to practice in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware in the following year.

Previously licensed in Pennsylvania, Mr. Stewart spent his early career as a defense attorney for insurance companies in personal injury lawsuits. Having worked in a regional defense law firm and as a staff counsel for one of the largest insurance carriers, he possesses a shrewd understanding of how insurance companies evaluate and defend claims. His experience allows him to anticipate defense strategies and navigate complex disputes with precision, ensuring his clients receive an effective and informed representation.

As a member of the Delaware Trial Lawyers Association and the American Association for Justice, Mr. Stewart is a strong advocate for the right to trial. He provides relentless representation, ensuring his clients’ rights are protected and their voices are heard. Actively participating in the works of the association, he engages himself in panel discussions, most notably the Delaware Trial Lawyers Association’s Trials in the Age of Covid. During this panel, he shared his thoughts on the challenges of conducting trials during a pandemic and the use of technology in trials.
