Yvonne Takvorian Saville

Ms. Saville is a director with the law firm of Weiss, Saville, Medinilla & Houser, P.A. where her practice is focused on civil litigation and alternative dispute resolution. She has mediated and arbitrated over 17,000 cases to date. Ms. Saville served as a Special Master for complex civil cases in Delaware’s District Court for eight years and has been an adjunct professor at the Delaware Law School since 2014. In recognition of her ADR practice, Ms. Saville was named a “Friend of the Court” by President Judge Jurden and was accepted as a Fellow with the American College of Civil Trial Mediators and as a member of the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals. She has presented over 100 lectures on the topics of Alternative Dispute Resolution, Personal Injury, Ethics and Workers’ Compensation.

Ms. Saville is a Past President of the Delaware State Bar Association (DSBA) and is a member and previous Chair of DSBA’s Workers’ Compensation Section.  She is also a member of the Women and the Law, Litigation, ADR and Small Firms and Solo Practitioners Sections.  She is a master in the Randy J. Holland Inn of Court and serves on the CLE planning commissions for the DSBA Workers’ Compensation section, Women and the Law section and Delaware Trial Lawyers Association.  For the last 29 years, Ms. Saville has served on the Board of Governors for the Delaware Trial Lawyers Association (DTLA) and was elected as its President twice. 

Ms. Saville was appointed by Governor Carney and served for 8 years on the Judicial Nominating Commission and serves on the Delaware Law School Alumni Board.  She is a previous co-chair of the Delaware Supreme Court’s Access to Justice Commission, served on the Judicial Strategies Committee and is a past co-Chair of the DSBA Nominating Committee.  She was a board member for 14 years with the Combined Campaign for Justice and served as an officer with the Delaware Financial Literacy Institute.   Ms. Saville taught for a decade as an Adjunct Professor at the Delaware Law School. 

Ms. Saville has earned an AV Peer Review Martindale Hubbell rating (highest rating in legal ability and ethical standards) in the areas of alternative dispute resolution, personal injury and workers' compensation.  She has been recognized as an outstanding lawyer in the field of ADR and workers' compensation in Delaware Today magazine, as one of the Best Lawyers in America for Mediation, and as Delaware Super Lawyer in the area of ADR, listed in Philadelphia Magazine.  She is a past recipient of the Delaware Superior Court Amicus Curiae or "Friend of the Court" Award, the Delaware State Bar Association Women's Leadership Award, the DSBA Alternative Dispute Section Kimmel Thygne Award, the DSBA Women and Law Section Honorable Aida Wasserstein Award, the Delaware Law School Alumna of the Year Award, the Delaware Trial Lawyers Association Eagle of Justice Award, and the Delaware Law School Outstanding Service Award.  

Ms. Saville is a member of the American Bar Association and American Association for Justice (formerly ATLA). She is a graduate of the University of Delaware and Delaware Law School (previous Widener University School of Law).
