Jim Dodrill has built a notable career in corporate and securities law since 1993, advising companies on transactional matters from his base in Palm Beach County, Florida. At The Law Offices of James G. Mr. Dodrill began his professional journey as a legal assistant in one of New York’s leading M&A departments, collaborating on several landmark deals. He then pursued a rigorous legal education with an emphasis on corporations, finance and securities. While at the University of Miami, he served as an editor of the law review, earned election to the Order of the Coif and authored scholarly articles on fiduciary liability and leveraged buyouts. His academic achievements included a top-ten class ranking, recognition as a Dean’s Honor Scholar and multiple American Jurisprudence Awards.
In 1996, Mr. Dodrill co-founded a golf equipment and apparel enterprise, assuming the roles of president and general counsel. Under his leadership, the company secured successive rounds of private capital, expanded distribution into seventeen states, and completed a successful underwritten IPO – an experience that underscored the unique challenges faced by smaller issuers.
Beyond his professional life, Mr. Dodrill is deeply engaged in his community. He is admitted to practice in Florida and New York and holds memberships in the American Bar Association, The Florida Bar and the South Palm Beach County Bar Association.
