David B. Mitchell is a highly respected attorney with a distinguished career marked by a commitment to legal excellence and community service. At his firm – David B. A proponent of alternative dispute resolution, Mr. Mitchell has served as a Florida Supreme Court-certified family and county court mediator since 1991. He is also a collaboratively-trained family attorney and a member of the Collaborative Family Law Institute. His extensive experience includes mediating hundreds of family court cases, serving as a Florida Supreme Court-qualified arbitrator, and mediating homeowner insurance disputes for the Florida Department of Financial Services. Furthermore, he is qualified as a parenting coordinator and a guardian ad litem, roles through which he continues to make significant impacts.
Throughout his career, Mr. Mitchell has shown a strong commitment to his community. He is a past president of the Coral Gables Bar Association, a recipient of its President’s Award, and has received recognition for his voluntary efforts through the Put Something Back Award from the Dade County Bar Association. He has also been honored with the Key to the City of Coral Gables twice in recognition of his efforts to improve community life.
Mr. Mitchell holds a J.D. from Stetson University College of Law and a B.A. from the University of Miami, where he was on the dean’s list. He also holds an advanced diploma in local history from the University of Oxford, earned with distinction.
