Details
Attorney Diane P. Perez founded her Coral Gables law firm, Diane Perez, P.A., in 2012 with the goal of providing representation and counsel to employees and employers who face legal issues in the area of employment law. At her firm, she regularly represents clients from throughout South Florida, including those in Miami-Dade County, Fort Lauderdale, Broward and Monroe counties and the Florida Keys, in a wide variety of matters, including the following:
Minimum wage and overtime claims
Unpaid wages
Discrimination
Retaliation and whistleblower claims
Family and Medical Leave Act
Non-compete matters
COBRA coverage
Ms. Perez, a Florida native, was born in Hialeah and raised in Hollywood. As a second-generation Cuban-American, she speaks fluent Spanish and takes great pride in helping members of South Florida's Hispanic communities. Her background was a great influence on her decision to become an attorney, as she saw the challenges many of her fellow Hispanics faced as both employees and business owners.
After earning a Bachelor of Science in journalism from University of Florida in 2003, she decided to further her education. In 2007, she earned her law degree from University of Miami School of Law, and The Florida Bar granted her admission later that year. She began her career as an associate attorney at a well-known Florida employment law firm, which she followed with two similar positions at other firms before founding her solo practice in 2012.
Thanks to her outstanding abilities and extensive knowledge of her chosen practice area, she is a regular guest speaker at legal events and a highly respected author on legal topics. In addition, she is a member of a number of legal organizations, including the Coral Gables Bar Association, where she is a board member, and the Cuban American Bar Association.
