Joshua D. Krut’s legal proficiency encompasses community association, corporate law, hospitality law and real estate law. He serves as the chair of the Community Association, Club & Resort Practice at the law firm of Kopelowitz Ostrow Ferguson Weiselberg Gilbert, with offices in Miami, Fort Lauderdale and Boca Raton, Florida. In this role, he acts as outside general counsel throughout South Florida to a variety of community associations, such as:

Mr. Krut regularly assists board members and property managers with corporate governance, association operations, budget and assessment issues, election procedures, contract review and drafting, covenant analysis and enforcement, Fair Housing Act issues, pet restrictions, tenant screening provisions, preparing amendments to governing documents and management and developer relations. Mr. Krut is also an accomplished transactional real estate attorney with a broad range of experience. His work includes handling condominium terminations, representing residential real estate developers, and assisting developers in matters related to property acquisition, leasing, financing and sales.
Admitted to the bar in both Florida (since 2001) and Illinois (since 1998), Mr. Krut graduated with Summa Cum Laude from the University of Michigan, where he earned his B.A. with Honors. He was also a member of Phi Beta Kappa and was recognized as a James B. Angell Scholar. He holds a law degree from Northwestern University School of Law.
Mr. Krut has extensive experience with condominium terminations and was honored with the Dealmaker of the Year Award in the Multifamily Category by the Daily Business Review for his work on the Seashore Club condominium termination, resulting in a sale price of $82 million. Among his other notable transactions, he also handled the $55 million Surf Club condominium termination in 2015.
Mr. Krut is committed to legal education, as evidenced by his role as an instructor in Condominium Legislative Update for CAM candidates. Additionally, he has earned certification as an Educational Provider by the State of Florida for condominium law.
