Kirk vonHilsheimer

Kirk R. vonHilsheimer is a Partner at Conrad & Scherer’s Fort Lauderdale office, where he plays a key role in the firm’s complex commercial litigation practice. He earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Florida Levin College of Law and his Bachelor of Arts from Duke University.

Kirk represents clients in high-stakes commercial litigation matters, including contract disputes, business torts, and construction claims. He was a member of the trial team in Gopher v. Wells Fargo, where Broward County jurors returned the largest jury verdict in the county’s history, awarding approximately $826 million for Wells Fargo’s mismanagement of a trust established for the Seminole Tribe of Florida’s children. The court later entered an amended judgment exceeding $1.25 billion with prejudgment interest. The case exposed significant breaches of fiduciary duty and financial misconduct and reflects the firm’s commitment to litigating matters of exceptional consequence.

Kirk’s practice includes enforcing mechanic’s liens, resolving complex contract disputes for property owners and contractors, and protecting public access to information under Florida’s Sunshine Law, Fla. Stat. § 119. He also has experience in probate litigation, including will contests involving claims of undue influence and lack of testamentary capacity, helping safeguard the integrity of estate proceedings.

As a Partner, Kirk plays an active role in case strategy, client counseling, and trial preparation, working closely with firm leadership to advance clients’ interests in complex commercial disputes. His experience across multiple industries strengthens Conrad & Scherer’s litigation platform and reinforces his role as a trusted advocate for clients facing high-stakes legal challenges.
