Michael D. Leader started his career as an attorney in the Courtroom as an Assistant State Attorney in Broward County, Florida where he was responsible for thousands of criminal files ranging in severity. He supervised and trained other lawyers and often provided instruction to police officers on various legal issues. He was recruited by, arguably the most, prestigious DUI defense firm in the Country at the time, where he successfully defended most of the firm's clients in Dade and Monroe Counties.  He was called back to his early roots handling large exposure, multi-party civil litigation in the areas of medical malpractice, nursing home, insurance litigation and bad faith, commercial litigation, personal injury matters and more.  Mr. Leader, believed to be the youngest equity partner of an insurance defense firm in Florida at the time, started his own practice with law partners in 2005 with offices in various parts of Florida.  Shortly thereafter, in 2007, Mr. Leader, realizing he can help more people from another approach, formed the firm that now operates as Leader, Leader & Zucker, PLLC.   His focus over the last twenty years has been in civil litigation, predominantly insurance and probate and guardianship litigation and trials.  He is also a qualified arbitrator and Florida Supreme Court Certified Mediator

He has prosecuted and defended countless DUI and other criminal matters, has been responsible the litigation of thousands of civil matters, has been involved in well over one hundred jury trials and has personally tried over sixty cases to verdict. Mr. Leader believes in aggressively attacking the oppositions case. Although he is a skilled trial attorney, he works to have his client's favorably resolved before trial, whenever possible, in order to avoid subjecting his client's to the risks and costs associated with the trial process.

Mr. Leader, with his litigation team that he has carefully built over the years, successfully utilizes his background and experience to identify and attack various issues that may come up or apply in any given case. In addition to his success in the courtroom, Mr. Leader has obtained great respect through various other accolades and accomplishments over his twenty-five plus years in the Florida legal community.   He has lectured and participated in numerous seminars over his career. In short, Mr. Leader has dedicated himself to the art of winning in the detailed and technical arenas he has practiced in, including both complex civil  and criminal work.

Also notable, Mr. Leader was recognized By Florida Legal Elite, Super Lawyers and many other honors which include the top lawyers who have earned the trust and confidence of other lawyers, those who know their work the best.

Mr. Leader's experience goes beyond his time as an attorney and counselor at law.  He grew up in the healthcare industry helping his family operate one of the largest nursing homes in the State of Florida.  He worked with his father and later, other firms, as a law clerk before finishing law school.  Mr. Leader has served as outside general counsel and/or consulted with several small businesses.  Additionally, he has done successful work in the area of non-compete agreements and employment and labor controversies.  He believes that his substantial experience in both the civil  and criminal arenas, having worked on both sides of many of the issues his clients face and his overall experiences, has made him an even stronger attorney to help counsel his clients along the way and fight for the best outcome!
