Peter T. Mavrick is the founder of the Fort Lauderdale-based Mavrick Law Firm. He focuses his practice on complex civil litigation, representing clients throughout the state of Florida, and he has been admitted to practice in California since 1992 and in Florida since 1996. In addition, Mr. Mavrick is admitted to the U.S. District Courts for the Southern, Middle, and Northern Districts of Florida, before the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, and before the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the 9th and 11th Circuits.
A substantial portion of Mr. Mavrick’s practice involves business litigation, including claims asserting breach of contract, non-competition and non-solicitation covenants in the context of sales of businesses and employment relationships, tortious interference with contractual and business relationships, fraud, trade secret misappropriation, trademark infringement, and under the Florida Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act.

- In August 2025, Mr. Mavrick won an appeal before Florida's Third District Court of Appeal. The appellate court issued an order affirming the result of a jury trial that Mr. Mavrick had won in Miami, Florida. Mr. Mavrick's client, a private school in Miami-Dade County, was sued by a terminated employee alleging wages owed. The jury decided in favor of Mr. Mavrick's client. The employee appealed the adverse jury verdict. The appellate court affirmed the jury verdict. The appellate court also awarded Mr. Mavrick's client attorneys' fees for successful defense of the appeal., 2025
- In July 2025, Mr. Mavrick won an appeal before Florida's Fourth District Court of Appeal. The appellate court issued an order affirming the results of a jury trial that Mr. Mavrick had won in Broward Circuit Court. Mr. Mavrick's client, and out-of-state corporation, had sued two South Florida companies and their principals for fraud and violations of Florida's Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act. After several injunction hearings spanning several months, the former employer was unable to obtain a temporary injunction. On the eve of trial, the former employer dismissed its lawsuit with prejudice, without any payment from Mr. Mavrick's client or any further obligations to the former employer.
