Mr. Nicholson focuses his practice on health care regulatory and related commercial litigation matters, as well as white collar criminal defense and False Claims Act cases.


    Mr. Nicholson earned his Juris Doctor with High Honors from The Florida State University College of Law, and his Bachelor's degree with Highest Honors from the University of Central Florida. Mr. Nicholson has taught health law as an adjunct professor at Nova Southeastern University, Florida International University and at Florida Atlantic University.


    With more than 28 years of experience, Mr. Nicholson has represented a wide range of clients, including licensed professionals, hospitals, medical groups and manufacturers in all phases of administrative, civil and criminal health care regulatory matters. In his private practice, he draws on the knowledge and experience he gained in 15 years as an Assistant United States Attorney prosecuting cases involving health care fraud, drug diversion, the False Claims Act, and Food and Drug Administration regulations. Mr. Nicholson has an Avvo "Superb" rating.


    An active member of the legal community, Mr. Nicholson has served on the executive council of The Florida Bar's Health Law Section and as the co-chair of the enforcement committee for the American Health Lawyers Association's Fraud and Abuse Practice Group. He has published numerous articles on topics relating to health care fraud and other health care law issues; and he is a frequent speaker at ABA, American Health Lawyers, Health Care Compliance Association and other health care industry conferences.
