TerryAnn S. Howell is a Senior Associate Attorney at Conrad & Scherer’s Fort Lauderdale office, where she focuses her practice on complex commercial litigation and civil disputes. A seasoned litigator with more than a decade of experience, TerryAnn has built her career around advocacy, service, and the belief that strong legal representation can be a powerful vehicle for change.

TerryAnn represents businesses and individuals in litigation, compliance, and transactional matters. Her experience includes complex commercial litigation, securities litigation, employment litigation, civil advocacy, administrative proceedings, and trial work. She brings a strategic and practical approach to each matter, helping clients navigate disputes with clear guidance, careful preparation, and a strong understanding of both the legal issues and the real-world stakes involved.

Her path as a litigator has been shaped by extensive courtroom experience and public service. TerryAnn has advocated for clients in criminal, civil, and administrative matters, giving her a broad perspective on how disputes unfold and what it takes to move a case forward effectively. She understands how to develop case themes, evaluate evidence, prepare witnesses, and present arguments in high-pressure settings.

In addition to her litigation practice, TerryAnn has served in a quasi-judicial capacity presiding over civil traffic hearings, evaluating testimony and evidence, and managing a high-volume docket. She also helps train future attorneys in trial advocacy, coaching law students on case theory, witness preparation, and courtroom presentation.

Outside of her legal practice, TerryAnn enjoys skydiving, paintball, CrossFit, traveling, going to the beach, and spending time with friends and family.

Ms. Howell pursued her education at Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, New York, where she concentrated on psychology and minored in government before earning a cum laude degree in the end. Through Skidmore's domestic exchange program, she studied semesters abroad at Spelman College in Atlanta and University of Westminster in London while attending Skidmore College. Her acceptance of change and her receptivity to novel concepts, settings and cultural norms brought her to Florida International University College of Law, located in Miami, Florida.

While at law school, Ms. Howell held positions at multiple law firms, undertook a summer judicial clerkship with the Honorable Donald L. Graham at the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, did her internship at the U.S. Coast Guard Judge Advocacy General (JAG) Office in Miami and the Miami-Dade Public Defender’s Office.

Ms. Howell aims to create a lasting impact by using her advocacy skills to support the disadvantaged, drawing on her firsthand experience of overcoming challenges. She achieved this through her time spent representing low-income clients in criminal and civil cases as an assistant public defender for Miami-Dade County and as a staff attorney for Legal Services of Greater Miami. Several bar associations and community organizations count her as an active member and board member, demonstrating her dedication to using her profession as an attorney to help those in need.

Grow, Glow, Giveback Corporation, Ms. Howell’s own nonprofit, helps low-income people conquer any obstacle to education. In 2018, she also founded the TerryAnn S. Howell Book prize to support this cause. This prize is granted to exceptionally talented students who are facing financial hardship and are academically prepared. It is expected that recipients would also commit to performing acts of service linked to the program.
