Christie Guerrero

Christie Guerrero is one of only a few attorneys in northeast Florida that is Board Certified in Marital and Family Law by the Florida Bar.  She is a partner at Sasso Guerrero & Henderlite in Jacksonville, Florida, where she dedicates her practice exclusively to family law. She is widely regarded as a skilled and compassionate advocate, known for combining sharp legal strategy with an unwavering dedication to protecting families and children.

Ms. Guerrero earned her law degree from Florida Coastal School of Law, graduating magna cum laude and at the top of her class. During law school, she distinguished herself as a member of the school’s nationally ranked Moot Court team and contributed as a staff editor for the Law Review. Her undergraduate studies at the University of Florida centered on family, youth and community sciences, laying the foundation for her career-long commitment to child and family advocacy.

Ms. Guerrero brings a rare perspective to her work thanks to her prior role with the Department of Children and Families (DCF), where she served as a Child Protective Investigator. That hands-on experience allows her to navigate dependency cases with a depth of understanding few family law attorneys can match.

Beyond her work with DCF, Ms. Guerrero has served as a guardian ad litem, advocating for the best interests of children in court proceedings. She also honed her legal research and writing skills as a clerk for a federal magistrate judge and through her internship at an appellate law firm.

Recognized for her impact early in her career, Ms. Guerrero received the Leader in the Law award from the Florida Association of Women Lawyers in 2015 and was later named among the Top 10 Under 40 by the National Academy of Family Law Attorneys in 2019. That same year, she was honored with the Best Lawyer in Jacksonville award at the Rainbow Awards Ceremony for her work with LGBTQ+ families.

Ms. Guerrero remains deeply engaged in her community, both as a licensed foster parent and as a member of the Jacksonville Women’s Lawyers Association, the Family Law Inns of Court, the Florida Adoption Council and the Jacksonville Bar Association. She also maintains a perfect 10/10 Avvo rating.
