Jason Hamilton Mikes, JD, MBA, is a top‑rated Florida condominium and HOA attorney who represents condominiums, homeowners' associations, cooperatives, country clubs, marinas, and master‑planned communities throughout Southwest Florida. As Managing Shareholder of Hamilton Mikes, P.A., Jason is known for delivering strategic guidance, powerful advocacy, and proven results in the legal issues that matter most to community associations.

For more than twenty years, Jason has helped community associations navigate complex challenges involving governance, regulatory compliance, covenant enforcement, collections, construction defects, insurance claims, vendor disputes, emergency response, and large‑scale property operations. Boards and managers rely on his ability to protect their communities, strengthen their financial stability, and resolve high‑stakes problems with clarity and confidence.

Jason has achieved major legal victories for condominiums and HOAs, including:

  • Recovery of proceeds for 35 associations defrauded of $10.3 million by their property manager, securing full insurance limits and remaining bank funds in under 16 months.
  • Fully recovered more than $500,000 for a country club after a complex wire‑fraud loss involving a payroll processor, bank, property manager, and multiple insurers.
  • Obtained a $368,000 judgment against a roofing contractor who violated Florida law after Hurricane Ian.
  • Defended a condominium association from a $1.4 million contractor claim, settling the matter for only $25,000.
  • Protected a 1,600‑home HOA from a $2.1 million landscape‑contract demand, resolving the dispute for 14% of the amount sought.

Jason is also recognized for his crisis leadership. He has guided dozens of condominiums, HOAs, and country clubs through the aftermath of Hurricanes Irma and Ian, coordinating emergency response, navigating insurance disputes, managing reconstruction, and advocating against contractors and carriers who failed to perform. His ability to bring order to chaos has made him one of Southwest Florida’s most trusted community‑association lawyers.

Beyond litigation, Jason has led transformative organizational projects, including developing and executing novel merger strategies, condominium terminations, short term rental programs, and amenity-operation entities, dramatically improving efficiency and reducing long‑term costs to communities.

Jason’s legal strategy has shaped Florida community‑association law, including his published appellate victory in Wells Fargo Bank, N.A. v. Sterling Oaks Community Association and Club, Inc., 209 So. 3d 586 (Fla. 2d DCA 2016).

He has earned the Martindale‑Hubbell® AV® Preeminent™ rating every year since 2012 and is a multi‑year Florida Super Lawyers Rising Star. Jason holds both a JD and MBA from Stetson University College of Law and is admitted to practice in Florida and the U.S. District Courts for the Middle and Southern Districts of Florida.

Community associations hire Jason because he delivers strategic counsel, decisive advocacy, and real results—protecting their property, strengthening their governance, and safeguarding the long‑term health of their communities.

Beyond his legal practice, Jason is a mentor, business owner, and youth leader committed to developing future leaders through faith‑based mentorship and elite soccer coaching.
