Steve Rawls

My areas of specialized expertise include Catastrophic Injury Litigation, Insurance Coverage, and Insurer Bad Faith.  I have written articles and treatise chapters for various industry publications such as For the Defense, The CGL Reporter, West’s Law and Practice of Insurance Coverage, The International Risk Management Institute, Mealey's Litigation Report: Bad Faith, and Recurring Issues in Insurance Discovery Disputes.

Over my career I have litigated many high value personal injury cases involving serious injuries. I have supervised, directed and participated in trial court cases and appeals, and I have routinely conducted litigation and authored complaints, dispositive motions, legal memoranda and appellate briefs. In my cases I have acted as national counsel in multi-million-dollar ephedra-alkaloid litigation, and I have litigated singular and mass action personal injury toxic tort actions involving mold, chemical exposure and Chinese drywall claims. 

I served for several years on the executive management committee of one of the largest Florida law firms working primarily with the insurance industry. My responsibilities there included, among other things, participating in the development of firm standards and practices.  I have supervised attorneys, paralegals and staff for many years and presently supervise the litigation attorneys at The Florida Law Group.  

I am a member of the Florida Bar, and I have been admitted to practice before all Florida federal District Courts and the United States Circuit Court of Appeals for the Fourth, Fifth and Eleventh Circuits.

I am a graduate of the University of South Florida and the Frederick C. Levin College of Law at the University of Florida.
