Alexander Alvarez

Alexander Alvarez is a founding partner of the Law Office of Alexander Alvarez, located in Coral Gables, Florida. He focuses his practice primarily on personal injury and wrongful death litigation involving matters such as motor vehicle collisions and construction site accidents. Although he primarily represents clients throughout South Florida who have been harmed in such incidents, Mr. Alvarez also has experience representing insurance company defendants in this type of litigation.

Born in Cuba and fluent in Spanish, Mr. Alvarez came to the United States with his family when he was an infant. In 1978, he was accepted into the police academy, where he graduated with honors and finished first in his graduating class. He quickly rose to the rank of detective and led an investigation into police corruption. He was named Officer of the Year by the Miami-Dade Police Department in 1987.

Mr. Alvarez earned a Bachelor of Science in criminal justice, graduating cum laude from St. Thomas University in 1989. He received his Juris Doctor in 1992 from the University of Miami School of Law where he was named to the national honorary society The Order of Barristers upon graduation. Admitted to practice in Florida, Mr. Alvarez is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Southern, Middle and Northern Districts of Florida, the U.S. Court of Federal Claims, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 8th Circuit. He has been certified as a specialist in civil trial law by the National Board of Trial Advocacy. Mr. Alvarez is an active participant in a variety of professional organizations, including the Florida Justice Association and the Miami Dade Trial Lawyers Association. Mr. Alvarez was recently accepted  as a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates, a national association of experienced trial lawyers and judges that are dedicated to the preservation and promotion of the right to a civil jury trial-a right provided by the Seventh Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.
