Catherine M. Rodriguez has over three decades of experience providing legal guidance and support to the residents of Florida. She is the founder and partner at Filler Rodriguez, LLP, in Miami Beach, Florida. She focuses her practice exclusively on family law matters such as divorce, parenting time, child support and international child abduction.
As a commercial litigator, Ms. Rodriguez represented a wide variety of companies and individuals in high-stakes business disputes before focusing her practice on family law. A strict new zoning regulation she wielded in 1998, while serving as both county attorney and prosecutor for Broward County, forced seven sex businesses to leave the area.
Ms. Rodriguez promotes cooperative resolutions between parties whenever feasible and is cognizant that family law matters necessitate taking the relationship into account. She frequently represents plaintiffs from all over the globe, with varying cultural backgrounds, financial situations and commercial interests. Her practice focuses on international divorces. The U.S. State Department has also commended her for her hard work on behalf of parents in cases involving international child abduction as outlined in the Hague Convention.
In 1988, Ms. Rodriguez secured her Bachelor of Arts in political science and government followed by her J.D. from the University of Florida School of Law in 1991. She is authorized to practice in Florida (1991), the U.S. District Court for the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit.
Board-certified as a specialist in family law by The Florida Bar, Ms. Rodriguez has been rated AV Preeminent* through Martindale-Hubbell for her high professional and ethical standing. She is a fellow of the prestigious American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and plays an active part in several subcommittees of The Florida Bar – Family Law Section. She is fluent in Spanish
