    Early in his legal career, Mr. Brown served as a prosecutor with the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office, where he gained invaluable trial experience. Over the course of his practice, he has handled a wide range of complex civil and commercial litigation matters for a variety of clients, both foreign and domestic. He has argued before the Florida Supreme Court, obtaining a precedent-setting ruling, and he served as counsel in the $300 million litigation that arose from the American Airlines Flight 965 crash in Cali, Colombia, in 1995.

    As an attorney, Mr. Brown has gained a reputation for his thorough preparedness and his persuasive arguments in court along with his ability to devise clear and succinct briefs. Honored for his outstanding professionalism and service, he has earned an AV-Preeminent peer review rating* from Martindale-Hubbell as well as recognition from Chambers USA and The Legal 500. He has also received many other top rankings and endorsements from his peers along with the John Edward Smith Child Advocacy Award.

    After graduating from Dartmouth College in 1986, Mr. Brown studied abroad at the University of Geneva, Switzerland, before returning to the United States and earning his Master of Arts in Law and Diplomacy from Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy in 1993. He obtained his Juris Doctor cum laude from the University of Miami School of Law in 1994 and served as member of the school's law review.

    Mr. Brown is admitted to practice in Washington, D.C., and Florida as well as before all U.S. District Courts in Florida and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit. He volunteers his time and services with Lawyers for Children America, and he is the founding member and past president of the League of Prosecutors.

    Mr. Brown has also served as chair of the American Bar Association's Aviation and Space Law Committee, and he is an active member of the International Association of Defense Counsel, the Cuban American Bar Association, and the grievance and code & rules committees of The Florida Bar.

    A talented playwright and actor, he has also received the Harold and Mimi Steinberg/ American Theatre Critics Association Citation for playwriting, a Laurents/Hatcher Foundation Award for playwriting and a Carbonell Award for playwriting.  His play, AMERICAN SON, appeared on Broadway in 2018 and was made into a Netflix original film starring Kerry Washington.
