Verdicts/Settlements

  • Over $5 million settlement - Parsons v. Ford Motor Company, et al., February 2007. Mr. Parsons was a single, 69 year-old automotive mechanic suffering from peritoneal mesothelioma
  • $8 million jury verdict - DeLisle v. Lorillard Tobacco Co., Hollingsworth & Vose Co., Crane, Co., et al, September 2013. Mr. DeLisle was 74 years old and worked as a maintenance electrician. He suffered from mesothelioma. This is the largest compensatory verdict against Lorillard Tobacco for their asbestos containing cigarettes, 2013
  • $1.8 million jury verdict- Lagueux v. Union Carbide Corporation, 861 So.2d 87, Fla. 4th DCA 2003. Mr. Lagueux was a drywall finisher suffering with asbestosis. This was the first case in the nation in which a jury awarded damages against Union Carbide Corporation in connection with the asbestos it mined
  • $37 million jury verdict - Hampton, et al., v. Pneumo Abex LLC, Circuit Court, August 27, 2014. Hillsborough County, Florida Case Number 13-CA-009741. Mr. Hampton was a 65 year-old automobile mechanic who suffered from peritoneal mesothelioma. He was exposed to asbestos while working in a Tampa auto shop. This is now the largest asbestos verdict in Florida, 2014
  • $1.2 million jury verdict - Kavanaugh v. Union Carbide Corporation, 879 So.2d 42, Fla. 4th DCA 2004. Mr. Kavanaugh was a carpenter suffering from peritoneal mesothelioma. This case solidified the legal responsibility in Florida against companies, who had previously claimed legal immunity as bulk suppliers of raw materials
  • $24.2 million jury verdict - Guilder v. Honeywell International, Inc., April, 2008. Dr. Guilder was a 51 year-old Weston doctor suffering from peritoneal mesothelioma. This was formerly the highest compensatory damage award against a single defendant in a mesothelioma case to date, 2008
