David R. Elder

Attorney David R. Elder is a shareholder with Elder & Lewis PA law firm in Miami, Florida. A nationally ranked trial attorney with more than 40 years of legal experience, Mr. Elder focuses his practice almost exclusively on construction law, and he provides invaluable counsel and support to clients throughout Miami and all across South Florida who have legal disputes involving contested change orders, bond and lien claims, construction defects, extended general conditions, and more.

Along with his extensive trial experience in state and federal courts, Mr. Elder has conducted numerous arbitrations before various panels, and he has negotiated favorable settlements for his clients without the need for expensive and time-consuming court battles. A 1972 graduate of Ohio Wesleyan University, Mr. Elder obtained his Juris Doctor from the University of Miami School of Law in 1978. The Florida Bar admitted him to practice the following year, and he is also admitted to practice before all state and appeals courts in Florida as well as before the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, the U.S. Court of Federal Claims and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit.

Mr. Elder is an active member of The Florida Bar's Construction Law Committee, the American Arbitration Association, the Dade County Bar Association and the South Florida Chapter of the Associated General Contractors organization.
