Stephanie Puente Williams

Stephanie Puente Williams is the founder of SPW Law Firm. Located in Miami, Florida, she devotes a major portion of her practice to insurance coverage matters, representing clients throughout Miami-Dade County and other parts of the state. Admitted to practice before all Florida state courts since 2013 and before the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida since 2014, Ms. Williams also handles real estate purchases and sales, criminal defense, and personal injury cases.

Fluent in Spanish as well as in English, Ms. Williams attended the University of Florida as an undergraduate, majoring in political science and government and receiving a Bachelor of Arts in 2009. She then enrolled on a merit scholarship at St. Thomas University School of Law in Miami Gardens, and she participated in several student organizations before being awarded her Juris Doctor in 2012.

Many of Ms. Williams’s clients are homeowners or businesses whose claims have been delayed or denied in bad faith by their insurance policy providers. She has successfully represented them in cases involving coverage against business interruptions, theft, hurricanes, floods, fire, roof damage, accidents and other incidents where her clients deserved to be protected under the terms of the policies that they had purchased. Prior to opening SPW Law Firm in 2017, Ms. Williams worked for a firm that defended insurance companies against these types of claims, and this experience has allowed her to anticipate and counter the delaying tactics that insurance companies often utilize when attempting to avoid their obligations. Ms. Williams also has a real estate practice, and she handles closings for sellers and buyers of residential properties, including houses, co-ops and condominiums.
