Details
Randy R. Briggs is the founder of The Briggs Law Firm and has been Certified in Civil Trial Law since 1983. No Florida lawyer or judge has been Board Certified longer. A native of Ocala, he focuses his practice exclusively on personal injury and wrongful death litigation, providing representation to area residents who have been harmed by the negligence of other parties. The types of cases that Mr. Briggs has worked on throughout his distinguished career have encompassed truck, motorcycle, and motor vehicle crashes, auto-pedestrian accidents, nursing home abuse, defective products, premises liability, and medical malpractice.
Mr. Briggs has been able to obtain many sizable jury awards and negotiated settlements on behalf of his plaintiff clients, and this has led to his membership in the invitation-only Million Dollar Advocates Forum. The respect that his colleagues have for him has also been manifested in his receipt of an AV Preeminent* peer review rating through Martindale-Hubbell and an "Excellent" peer review rating through Avvo. Admitted to practice before all Florida state courts, Mr. Briggs is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida.
Mr. Briggs has delivered numerous lectures on topics related to his practice area, including serving as an instructor at trial advocacy programs presented by the Trial Lawyers Section of The Florida Bar. He coached the University of Florida Trial Team for 3 years. An active participant in many professional organizations, and was both a founder and Past President of the American Board of Trial Advocates, North Central Florida Chapter, and The D. R. Smith American Inn of Court. He is also a former chairman of the Fifth Circuit Grievance Committee. Mr. Briggs obtained his legal education at the University of Florida Levin College of Law, and he served on the Florida Law Review before being awarded his Juris Doctor with Honors and induction into the Order of the Coif in 1975.
