Alicia M. Smith

A native of Minnesota and raised in Lake County, Florida, attorney Alicia M. Smith works with Morgan & Morgan, located in Orlando, Florida. Ms. Smith majored in political science at the University of Central Florida and graduated with her bachelor’s degree in 2011. She was selected to be a president’s and dean’s scholar. In 2015, she completed her J.D. magna cum laude from the Florida State University College of Law, where she was once again a dean’s scholar and an active member of the “Journal of Land Use & Environmental Law.” She took a great interest in pro bono activities right from her college days and was awarded the Distinguished Pro Bono Service Award for completing 400 hours of volunteering.

Ms. Smith’s modus operandi that earned her eminence in her academics worked its magic in her career as well, equipping her to successfully argue cases in court and obtain verdicts/ settlements on behalf of her injured clients. After graduation, she interned at the Public Defender’s Office’s felony division and clerked at a reputed insurance defense firm in the state. Acquiring a heightened sense of the workings of the insurance system and the laws pertaining to it, she puts her knowledge to good use in fighting on behalf of her clients.

Ms. Smith has been inducted into The Order of the Coif and was included in The National Trial Lawyers: Top 40 Under 40 list. She has successfully managed to obtain seven-digit settlements in recent years for cases involving slip-and-fall accidents, premises liability and motor vehicle accidents.\
