David W. Barkett

David W. Barkett is a real estate attorney based out of Orlando, Florida. Mr. Barkett is the founder of Barkett Law and represents clients, including banks, developers, lenders, mortgage companies, property owners and brokerage firms throughout central Florida in many different types of real estate matters. 

As a practicing attorney for over 20 years, Mr. Barkett provides legal services involving the issuance of title insurance, sale of real estate and other complex real estate issues. He is a licensed title agent for several insurance companies and serves as an escrow agent, title agent or representative for buyers, lenders and sellers. 

Recognized as a leading real estate attorney, Mr. Barkett has testified as an expert witness in real estate law cases and spoken on real estate topics at conferences and seminars. Concentrating his practice primarily on real estate law enables him to provide exceptional advice and representation while forming close relationships with his clients.

In addition to real estate, Mr. Barkett is familiar with estate planning and probate matters. Additionally, he handles cases involving business disputes, contracts, construction litigation and other general civil litigation.

Mr. Barkett earned a bachelor’s degree from Stetson University. He went on to graduate from the University of Mississippi School of Law. Prior to opening Barkett Law in 2002, he practiced at two major law firms, handling real estate and civil litigation matters. He holds licenses to practice before all Florida state courts and the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida. He is an active member of The Florida Bar.
