The compassion and determination that Mr. Umansky brings to his work are deeply rooted in his own early life experiences, having faced adversity and learned firsthand the transformative impact of second chances. His legal journey began after earning his Bachelor of Arts cum laude in psychology from the University of South Florida, followed by his Juris Doctor from the University of Florida Levin College of Law.
Mr. Umansky’s law school tenure was marked by noteworthy achievements, such as recognition for outstanding contributions, leadership roles on the university’s trial team and top honors in negotiation and dispute settlement courses. He gained further perspective through international legal studies at the Tulane Institute of European Legal Studies in Paris.
Launching his career as a prosecutor, Mr. Umansky tried more than 100 jury trials in Brevard County, serving in roles such as Domestic Violence Division chief and city prosecutor for Orlando. He further enhanced his trial skills and insight into criminal and civil law before establishing his own practice in 1999.
Mr. Umansky’s reputation for client advocacy has resulted in appearances and citations across major media outlets such as USA Today, The Wall Street Journal and national television affiliates. He is the author of several books, including the Amazon best-seller "Tiger Tactics," and hosts the podcast "The Lawman’s Lounge."
A respected member of the legal community, Mr. Umansky holds numerous awards, including an AV Preeminent* peer-review rating through Martindale-Hubbell, multiple recognitions as a Florida Legal Elite and various community leadership honors.
