Brett C. Barner

Brett C. Barner serves as the principal attorney at Barner & Barner, P.A., based in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, where he channels his extensive background into a practice focused predominantly on estate, trust, guardianship and fiduciary litigation. With a proven track record, he has guided clients through highly complex cases, some involving assets worth hundreds of millions of dollars. 

Born and raised in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, Mr. Barner's academic journey began at The Benjamin School and continued through to the University of Florida, where he earned a degree in business. His legal education was completed at Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad College of Law, funded through his own efforts. His path to law was enriched by significant real-world experience in sales, management and leadership roles at Fidelity Federal Bank & Trust (now PNC Bank) and e-Numerate Solutions, Inc. This diverse background infuses his approach to law with practicality and a deep understanding of business dynamics, making him proficient not only in legal strategies but also in client relations and problem-solving.

Mr. Barner's legal acumen extends to representing commercial clients in real estate litigation and various business disputes. His courtroom successes include appearances before the Fourth District Court of Appeal and practice in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida. Recognized for his professional excellence, he has been awarded the AV Preeminent* peer-review rating through Martindale-Hubbell.

Further highlighting his commitment to his field, Mr. Barner graduated from the Florida Fellows Institute of The American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC). He is an active participant in The Florida Bar’s Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section (RPPTL), contributing to legislative discussions and serving on several committees, including guardianship, probate procedure and real property litigation.

In addition to his legal practice, Mr. Barner dedicates time to leadership and educational roles within the legal community. He serves on the board of directors for the North County Section of the Palm Beach County Bar Association and has held positions such as co-chair of its Estate and Probate CLE Committee.
