Matthew E. Haynes

Matthew Edward Haynes, a partner at Lytal, Reiter, Smith, Ivey & Fronrath in West Palm Beach, Florida, is renowned across the state for his prowess in the courtroom. He has skillfully navigated a myriad of personal injury cases, including those involving automobile negligence, wrongful death, negligent security, premises liability, employment discrimination, uninsured motorist coverage, First Amendment violations, civil RICO violations, whistleblower cases and breaches of fiduciary duty, all the way to verdict.

Board-certified by The Florida Bar in civil trial litigation, Mr. Haynes has been called upon to provide testimony in bad faith litigation and attorneys’ fees. Academically, he is distinguished, having earned his B.S. in accounting from Florida State University in 1990 and his J.D. cum laude from Stetson University College of Law in 1993. The United States Navy extended an invitation to Mr. Haynes to join its “Leaders to the Sea” program, which allows key figures to experience life aboard a warship. As part of this extraordinary adventure, he was whisked away by helicopter to a majestic guided-missile destroyer cruising the open sea. There, he enjoyed an entire day immersed in the ship's life, sharing moments with the captain and crew before making his journey back.

Prior to his tenure at Lytal, Reiter, Smith, Ivey & Fronrath, Mr. Haynes was frequently sought after as co-counsel by firms across Florida to assist in jury presentations. He was recognized by Legends Society.com as one of the Top Lawyers in Plaintiff’s Personal Injury for three consecutive years (2009-2011). His accolades also include the American Jurisprudence Book Award in Real Property and academic scholarships in Law I, Law II and Law III.
