Rebecca Mercier Vargas

Rebecca Mercier Vargas is a member of Kreusler-Walsh Vargas & Serafin, P.A., a Florida appellate law firm with extensive experience in appeals and litigation support at both the state and federal levels. Ms. Vargas’ practice emphasizes civil appeals and litigation support involving complex commercial, medical malpractice, personal injury, product liability, class action, insurance, marital and family law, and probate and trust law issues.

Before joining the firm, Ms. Vargas worked as a law clerk at the Florida Supreme Court. In the years since, she has routinely argued the merits of her clients’ cases in appellate courts throughout Florida. She is admitted to practice in Florida state courts, the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit and the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Middle districts of Florida.

Ms. Vargas is Board Certified as a specialist in appellate practice by The Florida Bar. She also holds an AV Preeminent* peer review rating through Martindale-Hubbell and has received numerous other honors and awards. She has been a member of The Florida Bar's Civil Procedure Rules Committee since July 2022.  Ms. Vargas was the co-chair of the Appellate Practice Committee of the Palm Beach County Bar from 2022 to 2023.  She was the Chair of the Florida Supreme Court Committee on Standard Jury Instructions in Civil Cases from 2016 through 2017.  Ms. Vargas is on the Board of Directors of the Legal Aid Society of Palm Beach County, Inc.  In addition, she  is a member of several professional organizations, including the Florida Association of Women Lawyers.
