Heather L. Gurley

The founder of Gurley Law, P.A., Heather L. Gurley focuses her practice exclusively on family law matters, and she has worked in that area since graduating from law school. Her firm is located in Dunedin, Florida, and she represents clients in Pinellas and Pasco counties. Ms. Gurley has been admitted to practice before all Florida state courts since 2015.

After getting an associate’s degree, Ms. Gurley continued her undergraduate education at the University of South Florida, where she majored in history and received a Bachelor of Arts in 2011. She then pursued her legal education at Stetson University College of Law. While she was there, Ms. Gurley was a paralegal at area law firms before being awarded her Juris Doctor in 2015. Upon her graduation, Ms. Gurley joined a family law firm and stayed there until opening her own practice in June 2017. A member of the Family Law Section of The Florida Bar, she is also a member of the Clearwater Bar Association and other professional groups.

Ms. Gurley’s family law experience has largely encompassed the representation of people whose marriages have come to an end. In this regard, she advises them on the Florida laws dealing with property division, child custody and visitation, and child and spousal support, often helping them to come to an accord on these issues through mediation and settlement negotiations and appearing on their behalf in court if litigation becomes unavoidable. Ms. Gurley has also helped clients who have already gotten a divorce and who now need to have existing support or parenting orders modified or enforced, and she has represented domestic violence victims in their quest to obtain protective orders from a judge.
