Lyle Long

Lyle Long is a personal injury and criminal defense lawyer and one of the founding partners of Long, Jean & Wechsler, P.A. He has served as an attorney for nearly a decade and has recovered millions for his injured clients in that time. In addition, Lyle is a Professor at Florida Atlantic University, where he teaches Personal Injury courses in the Paralegal Program. Outside of his law practice, Lyle is a proud father and is a die-hard sports fan, and enjoys following the Dolphins, Gators, and Miami Heat. 

Leadership is not new to Lyle.  In high school, he was a three-year varsity football starter and Defense Captain at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. In college, he also served as a two-term Fraternity President of Pi Kappa Phi at the University of Florida. It was this long history of leadership that fueled Lyle’s passion to excel. After graduating Cum Laude from Nova Southeastern University in 2012 with his Juris Doctor, he was admitted to the Florida Bar. 

Shortly after graduating, Lyle Long worked as an associate attorney for a prominent South Florida criminal law firm. During this time, he developed his court litigation skills, gaining valuable experience in State and Federal defense law. Looking to expand his trial skills, he spent time as an Assistant Public Defender in the Seventeenth Judicial Circuit Broward County, FL. Through his journey as an Assistant Public Defender, Lyle represented clients of all backgrounds and handled misdemeanors in County Court as well as serious felonies in Circuit Court. He tried numerous jury trials and handled felony cases carrying mandatory life sentences, with incredible outcomes for his clients. 

After gaining extensive trial experience in the public sector, Lyle decided to transition into private practice. In 2015, he joined what at the time was a civil litigation firm. He quickly transitioned into becoming a partner in what has now become Long, Jean & Wechsler, P.A. Lyle focuses on aggressively fighting insurance companies and has recovered millions for his injured clients. By placing the interests of his clients first, Lyle has been absolutely vital to the growth and success of not only every law firm he has been a part of but of Long, Jean & Wechsler, P.A.
