Derrick Clarke

Derrick Clarke established The Law Office of Derrick L. Clarke, P.A., in St. Petersburg, Florida, in 2018. He provides comprehensive legal services in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, and business and corporate law to a variety of clients from diverse backgrounds. He offers customized legal services to assist his clients who are deeply committed to their respective industries.

Mr. Clarke’s experience substantively focuses on helping his clients with all stages of acquiring and selling a business, from drafting buy-sell agreements, to conducting due diligence and closing the deal. His services also assist his clients negotiate, draft and review commercial contracts and leases, as well as employment agreements that contain non-competition, non-disclosure and non-solicitation restrictive covenants. Most of his clients are in the pest control, hospitality, commercial real estate, manufacturing, retail and personal care services industries.

Mr. Clarke holds an economics bachelor’s degree, magna cum laude, from The State University of New York at Buffalo and a master’s degree in public administration from Cornell University. He obtained his Juris Doctor from Stetson University College of Law. 

Mr. Clarke is admitted to practice before The Florida Bar, the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit. He is the recipient of the Victor O. Wehle Award for Trial Advocacy from the Stetson University College of Law. He also served as an associate member of the Stetson University College of Law, Moot Court Board.
