Wesley C. Dicus, Sr.

An attorney at Dicus & Burke, PLLC, Wesley C. Dicus, Sr. divides his practice among property insurance coverage issues, personal injury and criminal defense matters. Working out of the firm's office in St. Petersburg, Florida, he represents clients in the Tampa Bay area and throughout the state. Mr. Dicus has been admitted to practice before all Florida state courts since 2007, and as well in the United States District Court - Middle District of Florida.

In his insurance coverage practice, Mr. Dicus represents homeowners and business owners whose claims have been wrongfully denied, underpaid, or otherwise delayed by their insurance companies. The types of claims that he has worked on have included property damage caused by fire, wind and hailstorms, hurricanes, sinkholes, floods, lightning, mold and vandalism, and he has held insurers accountable while maximizing the amount of his clients' recovery. Mr. Dicus's personal injury client base is made up of people who have incurred economic and noneconomic losses as a result of the negligence of other persons or entities. His caseload in this regard has included incidents arising out of medical malpractice, motor vehicle accidents, residential fires, wildfires, premises liability, and dog bites, and he has obtained significant compensation for his clients through both jury awards and settlements that he negotiated out of court with defendants and their insurance companies.

In his criminal defense practice, Mr. Dicus draws on his previous experience as a prosecutor with the Office of the State Attorney for Pinellas and Pasco counties in his representation of people who have been charged by the state with misdemeanor or felony offenses. He has successfully defended clients who have been charged with drunk driving, drug possession, assault and battery, and domestic violence. Mr. Dicus is a 2006 graduate of Stetson University College of Law.
