Dean R. LeBoeuf

Dean R. LeBoeuf is the senior partner at Brooks, LeBoeuf, Foster & Gwartney, located in Tallahassee, Florida. His practice primarily focuses on complex civil litigation, encompassing personal injury, wrongful death, motor vehicle negligence, medical malpractice and nursing home abuse or neglect. Since 1997, he has held the AV Preeminent* peer-review rating through Martindale-Hubbell, the highest accolade based on confidential evaluations from peers and judges.

Mr. LeBoeuf earned his undergraduate degree with honors in political science from The Florida State University in 1978, also minoring in accounting and economics. He continued at The Florida State University College of Law, obtaining his J.D. in 1981. Following graduation, he initiated his career in private practice in Oyster Bay, Long Island, before co-founding Brooks, LeBoeuf, Foster & Gwartney, where he managed the firm’s growth and operations until 2023.

An esteemed author and lecturer, Mr. LeBoeuf has contributed numerous articles to The Florida Bar and delivered comprehensive lectures on civil litigation and trial practices. His leadership roles include president of the Tallahassee Bar Association, member of Florida’s 2nd Judicial Circuit Professionalism Committee and chairman of the Leon County Bench Bar Committee.

Additionally, Mr. LeBoeuf has actively participated on the boards of several professional and community organizations, including the Bond Community Health Center Inc., Community Christian School, Pembridge Place Homeowners Association, The Florida Bar Grievance Committee and the Capital Area Chapter of The American National Red Cross.

Mr. LeBoeuf’s dedication to justice has garnered him substantial accolades, such as the Trial Lawyer of the Year award from the American Board of Trial Advocates – Tallahassee Chapter in 2006, and consistent recognition among Florida’s Legal Elites by Florida Trend Magazine since then. Most recently, he was named the 2023 Best Lawyers Plaintiffs "Lawyer of the Year" in Tallahassee for medical malpractice law.
