John A. Anthony is the managing member of Anthony & Partners, LLC, a leading bankruptcy and creditors’ rights firm in Tampa, Florida. His practice serves clients statewide, from Pensacola to Key West, and includes Chapter 11 reorganizations, complex Chapter 7 liquidations, assignments for the benefit of creditors, loan restructures, state court loan enforcement litigation, and lender liability defense in both state and federal courts.
Originally from Worcester, Massachusetts, Mr. Anthony has been a member of The Florida Bar since 1987. His firm is known for its proficiency in serving lenders and other non-debtor entities in bankruptcy and related fields. He is also an active writer and speaker on issues vital to the lending industry.
Mr. Anthony earned his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center in 1987, following his B.A. from Georgetown University in 1984. His professional affiliations include The Florida Bar’s Corporate Banking and Business Law Section, the Federal Bar Association, and various United States District Courts in Florida. He is also a member of the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, the Hillsborough County Bar Association’s Corporate Banking and Business Law Section, the American Bar Association, and the American Bankruptcy Institute.
Mr. Anthony has been involved with the Southeastern Bankruptcy Law Institute and the Bankruptcy Bar Association for the Southern District of Florida since 1993. He is also a member of the Polk County Bar Association and the Lakeland Bar Association.
