K. Dean Kantaras, the managing attorney at K. Dean Kantaras, P.A., situated in Tampa, Florida, is a board-certified marital and family law specialist by The Florida Bar. His proficiency lies in divorce, modification, alimony, child support, timesharing, equitable distribution, paternity, father's rights, immigration, domestic violence injunctions and more. Additionally, he believes that meticulous preparation plays a vital role in the success of family law practice. Hence, he scrupulously analyzes each case and scrutinizes its strengths and weaknesses to offer his clients the best advocacy in the Tampa Bay Metro area.

Having graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of South Florida in 1989, Mr. Kantaras felt a deep-seated inclination toward the legal field. Three years later, he attained his Juris Doctor degree from the Oklahoma City University School of Law, fulfilling his long-standing dream of becoming a lawyer. He was licensed to practice law in Florida in 1993 and was admitted before the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit and the United States Supreme Court.

Upon completing his studies, Mr. Kantaras returned to his native Florida to kickstart his legal career. Initially, he hadn't considered working in family law – however, as a fledgling attorney, he was handed an opportunity to serve in this field. He quickly realized that no practice of law allowed him to fully utilize his courtroom skills and simultaneously navigate the complexities of family law cases better than family law itself.

Over 29 years in practice, Mr. Kantaras has garnered an AV Preeminent* peer-review rating through Martindale Hubble. Furthermore, Dean has showcased his legal knowledge by contributing a thought-provoking marital and family law article to Tampa Bay Magazine and authoring a chapter titled "Adapting to New Practices and Trends in Florida Family Law" for the 2012 Edition of "Strategies for Family Law in Florida."

Furthermore, Mr. Kantaras is a board-certified family law mediator who completed the University of South Florida’s family mediation training. He has also presented at various seminars, including the NBI “Divorce Law: Common Mistakes in Dividing Assets” Seminar in Jacksonville, Florida, in September 2015, discussing the importance of considering current and future income and expenses. Additionally, he was featured at the NBI “Advanced Family Law” Seminar in Tampa, Florida, in December 2015, where he delved into nontraditional family law structures and paternity disputes.

A consummate professional, Mr. Kantaras is bilingual in English and Greek, allowing him to communicate effectively with a broader range of clients.
