Kathryn Lynch has been practicing family law in Tampa, FL since 2012. Ms. Lynch is a dedicated and compassionate attorney who works hard to protect her clients’ rights while guiding them through some of the most challenging periods of their lives. She understands that family law matters are deeply personal and often emotionally complex, and she approaches each case with care, empathy, and attention to detail. Ms. Lynch is committed to helping her clients navigate the legal process with clarity, confidence, and strong advocacy.

Ms. Lynch is trained in the Collaborative Divorce process and strongly believes that the collaborative divorce process is a much healthier alternative to litigation.  She serves on the board of the Tampa Bay Academy of Collaborative Professionals (TBACP), which is a highly selective non-profit association of independent attorneys, neutral financials, and neutral facilitators who specialize in and commit to collaborative divorce. She is also a member of Next Generation Divorce, a group of local collaborative divorce professionals who help resolve divorce and other family law matters through a non-litigated, peaceful, and respectful team-based approach. In a collaborative divorce, both parties and counsel commit themselves to resolve differences fairly, equitably, in a respectful manner without resort or threat of resort to the courts. Both spouses and attorneys strive to communicate respectfully and constructively with each other to settle legal issues promptly and economically. Collaborative Family Law attorneys utilize a multi-disciplinary network of professionals to provide expertise to help resolve the case.

Ms. Lynch is a fourth generation Floridian and is an active participant in the Family Law legal community. She is a member of the Family Law Section of the Florida Bar. She is also a member of the Hillsborough County Bar Association, the Marital & Family Law Section, the Young Lawyers’ Division and the Collaborative Section of the Hillsborough County Bar Association. Ms. Lynch served on the Hillsborough County Bar Association’s Marital and Family Law Section Executive Council from 2017 to 2024. Ms. Lynch is a member of the Stann Givens Family Law Inn of Tampa which is an organization of family law judges, general magistrates, hearing officers, attorneys, and law students, who are dedicated to professionalism, ethics, civility, and excellence in the practice of family law.

Ms. Lynch was selected as a Florida Super Lawyers Rising Star for nine (9) consecutive years from 2017 to 2025. Ms. Lynch was selected as a Super Lawyer in 2026.

Ms. Lynch earned her Juris Doctor from American University’s Washington College of Law in Washington, D.C. During law school, Ms. Lynch spent a summer in Buenos Aires, Argentina, volunteering with local youth living in poverty. While she was a student attorney in Washington College of Law’s Women and the Law Clinic, she fought to represent low-income clients in family disputes in D.C. Superior Court with a focus on how clients’ gender, race, nationality, disability, and economic status affect their experiences in the legal system and within the lawyer-client relationship. Ms. Lynch also advocated for the educational rights of children with disabilities in Washington D.C. and Maryland under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act. She represented the parents of children with disabilities such as autism, learning disabilities, and emotional disturbances and worked with school districts to ensure they received the appropriate Special Education services. After she graduated from law school, Ms. Lynch started her professional career at the US Department of Energy as a Freedom of Information Act Analyst in the Loan Programs Office before moving to Tampa. Outside of her legal practice, Ms. Lynch enjoys throwing pottery and spending time with her goldendoodle, Dottie.
