Experienced attorney Keith M. Carter is a trial lawyer at the nationally known law firm of Morgan & Morgan. Since joining the firm's Tampa law office in 2002, Mr. Carter has focused his career on representing clients from Tampa, St. Petersburg, Clearwater and the surrounding areas in Florida in medical malpractice, general negligence and unfair debt collections actions. With a background in insurance defense, Mr. Carter uses his experience and knowledge to benefit his current clients as he helps them pursue compensation in personal injury and consumer protection matters.
Mr. Carter began his legal career in 1985 after earning his law degree from Stetson University College of Law and his admission to The Florida Bar. After spending more than 15 years in insurance defense, he co-founded a Tampa firm, where he remained until joining one of the region's oldest law firms, where he was a shareholder until he made the decision to join the legal team at Morgan & Morgan.
Over the past 30 years, Mr. Carter has built a reputation as a skilled trial attorney on both sides of the aisle. Thanks to his diligence, professionalism and extensive legal knowledge, he has earned a number of honors, including a "Very Good" rating from Avvo and an AV Preeminent peer review rating* from Martindale-Hubbell.
In addition to his many honors, the legal community also recognizes his ability. The Florida Bar's Board of Legal Specialization and Education has recognized him as a board-certified civil trial law attorney, and he is also a Florida Supreme Court certified mediator. He has held both certifications for more than 20 years.
