Kenneth G. Turkel

Ken Turkel is a trial attorney with a national practice focusing on the prosecution and defense of complex business and civil litigation matters, as well as media and privacy rights litigation. He also focuses his practice on clients in the sports and entertainment industries, both in the conventional legal arena, and also with respect to their licensing/endorsement deals.

Ken represents businesses and individuals in cases that present difficult legal and factual challenges, in which the stakes of the outcome are high, whether it is money damages at issue or someone's reputation. He has tried numerous cases in state and federal court, representing clients on both the plaintiff and defense sides. His trial experience includes contract and business tort claims, defamation and privacy torts, trade secret and intellectual property disputes, sports contract disputes, employment and discrimination matters, unfair business practices, and shareholder and corporate disputes. He has represented companies in the conduct of internal investigations and parallel criminal investigations at the state and federal level. He has also served as counsel in numerous class action proceedings.

Ken is passionate about what he does - which is fighting for his clients whether that be in the courtroom or in negotiations. Ken was awarded Courtroom Video Network's "Plaintiff's Counsel of the Year - Florida" award in 2016 for his work in representing Terry Bollea p/k/a "Hulk Hogan" in the landmark "Bollea v. Gawker" trial.  He has been included in "Best Lawyers in America" in the category of Commercial Litigation since 2009, has also been included in Florida Super Lawyers for Commercial Litigation since 2009.  In 2019 Ken was named one of Super Lawyers "Top 100 Lawyers in Florida" and "Top 50 Lawyers in Tampa Bay".  He has also been included in Florida Trend Legal Elite for Commercial Litigation in 2009 -2012 and 2014 -2019.  Ken is currently on the Florida Bar Board of Governors and the Florida Supreme Court's Committee on Jury Instructions in Business and Contract Cases.

When Ken is not working, he plays the drums in a local rock band in Tampa. He is also an unconditional, never say die, lifetime supporter of Tampa's sports teams - the Bucs, Lightning and Rays!
