L. Gray Sanders

L. Gray Sanders is a partner at Barbas, Nuñez, Sanders, Butler & Hovsepian in Tampa, Florida. Mr. Sanders practices in the areas of insurance coverage, product liability, securities litigation, tort litigation and workers’ compensation. He serves clients throughout Florida.

He is Board Certified as a Specialist in Workers Compensation by the Florida Bar.

Mr. Sanders has been licensed to practice law since 1990 and has more than 28 years of experience. He is admitted in all Florida state courts and before the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, the U.S. Court of Federal Claims, and the Supreme Court of the United States.

In addition to his private practice, Mr. Sanders serves as an Assistant City Attorney for the City of Tampa. He is active in his legal community and is a member of the Florida Bar Workers Compensation Board Certification Committee and the Rules Advisory Committee. He also serves as a Certified Secuities Arbitrator for the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA).

Mr. Sanders holds a bachelor’s degree from Washington and Lee University and received his law degree from the University of Florida Levin College of Law. He also attended the University of Virginia School of Law Trial Advocacy Institute and the National Institute for Trial Advocacy.                                   

While attending law school, Mr. Sanders was a senior research editor for the Florida Journal of International Law and has been published in the journal, as well. He belonged to the Phi Alpha Delta law fraternity and participated in the Philip C. Jessup International Moot Court Competition.
