Mike Trentalange

Michael J. Trentalange, the managing partner at Trentalange & Kelley, P.A., based in Tampa, Florida, is committed to representing individuals and families who have suffered severe and catastrophic injuries due to medical negligence. His assistance extends across the entire state, where he passionately advocates for the rights and interests of his clients.

With an impressive 35 years in the legal field, Mr. Trentalange has obtained substantial settlements and verdicts for numerous clients. Most recently, he obtained a verdict in excess of $68 million in November 2022. Mr. Trentalange obtained verdicts above $10 million five times in the nine year period from 2013 to 2022.  

After graduating from the University of Florida in 1983, Mr. Trentalange served as an officer in the U.S. Army before attending Stetson University College of Law. He obtained his Juris Doctor cum laude in 1989 and was admitted to The Florida Bar in 1990. He also holds a master of science degree in Bioethics from Harvard Medical School.

Along with practicing before the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Southern, and Middle Districts of Florida, Mr. Trentalange is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the Florida supreme court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces. He is also admitted to practice in Washington, D.C.

Board-certified by both the Florida Bar and the National Board of Trial Advocacy as a specialist in civil trial law, Mr. Trentalange is a fervent supporter of legal professionalism.  He actively participates in numerous professional legal organizations such as the Florida Justice Association, the Tampa Bay Trial Lawyers Association, the American Association for Justice and the Lawyer-Pilots Bar Association.
