Paul B. Thanasides

Counseling clients in business litigation and intellectual property litigation, Paul B. Thanasides has been active in the legal profession for nearly three decades. Handling various complex cases such as trademarks, copyrights, breach of contract, professional negligence, adversary proceedings in bankruptcy, class action suits and other business torts, he advocates for businesses, creditors, debtors and trustees across Florida. He currently serves at McIntyre Thanasides Bringgold Elliott Grimaldi Guito & Matthews, P.A., in Tampa, Florida.

Mr. Thanasides graduated from the University of South Florida with a bachelor’s degree in economics, knowledge of which he now applies to his business litigation practice. He earned his Juris Doctor in 1996 from Columbia Law School and gained his admission to practice law in Florida the following year. Additionally, he is admitted to appear before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit and the U.S. District Court for the Middle and Southern Districts of Florida, allowing him to represent his clients in federal matters and appeals. 

Throughout his career, Mr. Thanasides has won numerous cases for his clients. Most notably, he settled a breach of contract and fraud claim exceeding $50 million for $150,000. He also led a class action lawsuit against more than ten supplement industry defendants in seven states, resulting in a $200 million settlement.

After joining the firm in early 2007, Mr. Thanasides has been actively involved in the development of the firm. Currently, he is a member of the firm’s board of directors and also serves as the chair of the complex litigation division. His complex litigation team and he have defended their clients and successfully avoided more than $3 billion in claims. They have also helped their plaintiffs recover more than $500 million in verdicts and settlements.
