The senior partner at MANEY | GORDON Trial Lawyers, Richard H. Maney focuses his practice primarily on immigration and naturalization law. He is located in the firm's principal office in Tampa, Florida, although he has clients throughout the state and around the country. The services that Mr. Maney provides for individuals and businesses include family, nonimmigrant, investor, employment and student visas, deportation and removal defense, asylum applications, green cards, and citizenship petitions. He also represents plaintiffs in personal injury and wrongful death litigation arising out of incidents involving medical malpractice and defective products.
Majoring in marketing, Mr. Maney attended the University of Florida and received a Bachelor of Science in business administration in 1972. Remaining in Gainesville, he obtained his legal education from the University of Florida College of Law and was awarded his Juris Doctor in 1974. After graduation, Mr. Maney joined the Hillsborough County Public Defender's Office, where he was an assistant public defender in its felony division. He has also served as an adjunct professor at Hillsborough Community College, where he taught law courses. Admitted to practice in Florida, Mr. Maney is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the 5th and 11th Circuits, and the Supreme Court of the United States.

He is the author of several publications dealing with various aspects of immigration law, including student visas, amnesty, and investor and business visas.
