Teresa O. Prescott, a seasoned family law attorney, helps her clients deal with issues related to divorce and legal separation, child custody and visitation, spousal support, pre- and postnuptial agreements, and post-judgment modifications and enforcement.
Using a sophisticated, compassionate and straightforward approach, she strives to build time-tested solutions to alleviate the stress of legal matters for her clients. As a determined and knowledgeable lawyer, she keeps up to date on every aspect of the case and makes sure her clients are prepared for the process at each step.
After her undergraduate degree in international studies at the University of South Florida, Ms. Prescott earned her doctorate in law from Stetson University College of Law. An active law student, she was recognized for her outstanding oral argument and was co-teaching in a legal skills course.
Ms. Prescott’s position as a student associate in the Center for Excellence led to her selection among one of four students for a fellowship in higher education in law and policy. She dedicated her fellowship to studying federal and state policy, with a specific focus on Title IX and the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act.
A member of The Federalist Society, Ms. Prescott is also active in other legal establishments, including The Florida Bar’s Family Law and Appellate Practice Sections; the American Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division; and the Hillsborough County Bar Association’s Marital & Family Law Section and Young Lawyers Division.
Ms. Prescott was rated among the 10 Best Family Law Attorneys in 2019 and the Top 100 Women to Know in Tampa in 2018. Furthermore, Avvo has honored her with a “Very Good” rating. With a strong belief in education being a crucial component of community development, she instructs students in local schools throughout Hernando, Pasco and Hillsborough counties. She has published several articles in HuffPost about family law.
