Michael John Swan, a distinguished lawyer and co-founder of Rossway Swan, excels in guardianship, estate planning, mental health and probate and trust administration. As the chair of his firm's probate and guardianship departments, he prides himself on providing exemplary service in these complex fields. With extensive experience, he conscientiously handles challenging guardianship and mental health cases for families and professionals throughout Florida's East Coast, emphasizing Vero Beach and Melbourne.

Mr. Swan is an alumnus of the University of Florida, achieving a bachelor’s degree in economics in 1981. He earned his J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law in 1985. With a commendable career spanning over three decades, he has remained dedicated to elevating the quality of guardianship and mental health practices in Florida. His unwavering commitment to service is further evidenced by his substantive contribution to the statewide development of probate and mental health law through active participation in The Florida Bar.

In addition to his thriving legal practice, Mr. Swan actively participates in the Bar Associations of Miami-Dade County, Indian River County and Brevard County, and The Academy of Florida Trial Lawyer. His acumen has been acknowledged through several leadership positions, including his stint as chairman of the Dade County Bar Association Probate and Guardianship Committee from 1998 to 1999 and his membership on The Florida Bar's Probate Rules Committee from 1997 to 2003 and again from 2020 to the present. Furthermore, he has served as the 11th Circuit representative for the executive council of The Florida Bar's Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section.

Serving as chairman of the Mental Health Collaborative and the Public Guardianship Program of Indian River County showcases his unwavering dedication to improving mental health and guardianship practices. Additionally, he played a pivotal role in steering the United Way Annual Campaign as co-chair and currently contributes as the treasurer of the Indian River Lacrosse Association. Holding a seat on the board of directors of the Indian River Community Foundation further attests to his commendable involvement in philanthropic ventures.
