At Pike & Lustig, LLP, in West Palm Beach, Florida, Daniel Lustig is a multifaceted attorney whose practice spans from high-stakes injury litigation to intricate business disputes. With 14 years of experience, he is a staunch advocate for those who have suffered catastrophic injuries, particularly in auto and trucking accidents.
Mr. Lustig's prowess extends to the complex world of business litigation, where his LL.M. in intellectual property becomes a powerful asset. He once secured one of the largest willful copyright infringement jury verdicts in the Southern District of Florida. His broad experience encompasses disputes involving trademark, copyright, trade secrets and more. He also advises clients on protecting their intellectual property rights, guiding them through the process of registering trademarks and copyrights.
Originally from San Jose, Costa Rica, Mr. Lustig relocated to West Palm Beach, Florida, in 1997. He is an alumnus of Florida Atlantic University, where he earned a place on the dean’s list and was inducted into The National Political Science Honor Society. He holds a M.S. in international affairs from Florida State University and a J.D., along with an LL.M. in intellectual property, from the University of New Hampshire School of Law. He is licensed to practice in all Florida state courts, including the U.S. District Courts for the Southern, Middle and Northern Districts of Florida, as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit.
During his law school years, Mr. Lustig showcased his skills in the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot in Vienna, Austria, and later coached the International Commercial Arbitration team. He gained valuable experience clerking for a large insurance company, defending various liability cases, and assisting in a copyright infringement lawsuit involving the Trump Towers in North Miami Beach.
Mr. Lustig’s dedication and skill soon caught the attention of South Florida's legal community, leading to his role as a Special Prosecutor for the State Attorney's Office and positions with some of the region's most prestigious law firms. Beyond the courtroom, he is deeply committed to his community. His contributions to the legal profession and community have not gone unnoticed, earning him a “Superb” rating on Avvo.
Today, as a partner at Pike & Lustig, LLP, Mr. Lustig has carved out a niche for himself in catastrophic injury cases and complex business litigation. Verdicts / Settlements (Case Results)
- $9,974,791.42 Verdict - Breach of Contract - Partners Michael Pike, Talina Bidwell, and Daniel Lustig successfully represented a former Lake Worth police officer in a landmark breach of contract case, securing a $9,974,791.42 verdict. The officer, catastrophically injured in 2001, was entitled to benefits, including health insurance, under the law. However, the city fought against providing these benefits, subjecting him to an eight-year workers' compensation defense. This trial concluded decades of litigation, with the jury awarding the full cost of care to our client. We're proud to have achieved justice for this deserving individual in 2023.
