Lance C. Ivey

Lance C. Ivey is a partner at Lytal, Reiter, Smith, Ivey & Fronrath. He has been certified as a specialist in civil trial law by the Board of Legal Specialization & Education of The Florida Bar, and he has been admitted to practice in Florida since 1996. Mr. Ivey is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Middle and Southern Districts of Florida as well.

Mr. Ivey focuses his practice exclusively on personal injury and wrongful death litigation, representing people throughout the state of Florida from the firm’s offices in West Palm Beach. His cases have primarily dealt with dangerous products, in particular automotive products such as seat belts and air bags that have caused harm as a result of design or manufacturing defects. In one landmark trial involving a defective seat belt, Mr. Ivey obtained a sizable confidential settlement for his clients, and it resulted in the recall of more than 300,000 vehicles. Another one of his cases led to the Volkswagen Group of America, Inc., recalling vehicles that contained door speaker mountings with sharp edges that posed a danger to drivers and passengers.

Mr. Ivey’s successful track record both in court and at the negotiating table has led to a great deal of recognition from his colleagues. He has received an AV Preeminent* peer review rating through Martindale-Hubbell and a 10.0 peer review rating through Avvo. In addition, Mr. Ivey has been frequently selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America. He is the recipient of a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Miami, and he was awarded his Juris Doctor in 1995. Mr. Ivey is a member of the Palm Beach County Justice Association and other professional groups.
