Matt Shafran

Matt Shafran is the managing partner at Weinstein Legal Team’s Criminal Defense Division in West Palm Beach, Florida. Over the past decade, he has handled a broad spectrum of cases – ranging from personal injury, motor vehicle accidents and DUI matters to domestic violence charges and high-stakes felonies such as sex crimes, violent offenses, restraining orders and federal indictments.

Before joining Weinstein Legal Team, Mr. Shafran served as a prosecutor, gaining invaluable insight into the internal workings and tactical playbook of the state. Today, he leverages that insider perspective to craft aggressive, strategic defenses – anticipating prosecutorial moves, challenging evidence at every turn and relentlessly advocating for his clients’ rights and freedoms.

A native of Parkland, Florida, Mr. Shafran earned his Bachelor of Science degree in criminology from Florida State University, then went on to obtain his Juris Doctor from Nova Southeastern University. Since entering The Florida Bar in 2012, he has amassed more than 60 jury trials, mastering each phase of criminal proceedings – from pre-arrest through jury verdict.
