Attorney Profile

Attorney Robert T. Bergin, Jr., is the founder and owner of the Robert T. Bergin, Jr., P.A., law firm in West Palm Beach, Florida. A native of South Florida, Mr. Bergin has a genuine concern for the legal matters that affect the residents and businesses of this community. Board certified as a civil trial lawyer, he focuses his practice primarily on personal injury law as well as business litigation.

Early in his career, Mr. Bergin worked as an insurance defense attorney for a prominent area law firm, where he gained invaluable insight into the industry. This experience has served him well as he represents the rights and interests of victims because he understands the tactics his opponents may use to deny victims' claims, allowing him to devise the most effective strategies to increase his chances for success.

Finding great reward in being able to help individuals and families in their most dire times of need, Mr. Bergin has achieved notable success advocating on behalf of those who have personal injury or wrongful death claims arising from medical negligence, car accidents, nursing home abuse, defective products, premises liability and other preventable tragedies. From his efforts, he has helped secure numerous substantial awards and settlements for his plaintiff clients, and he has earned a reputation as one of the leading trial advocates in the country.

Along with holding an AV Preeminent peer review rating* from Martindale-Hubbell, Mr. Bergin has received many other awards and honors from his peers as well as many positive reviews and referrals from his satisfied clients. He has also established himself as a leader in his field, and he has served as chair and vice chair of the Civil Trial Law Certification Committee of The Florida Bar and the Circuit Court Civil Practice Committee of the Palm Beach County Bar Association.

In addition, he has served on the Fifteenth Judicial Circuit Grievance Committee as well as on the Palm Beach County Justice Association board of directors. Mr. Bergin has also served as president of the American Board of Trial Advocates' Palm Beach Chapter, and he maintains active memberships with the American Bar Association, the Florida Justice Association and the American Inns of Court, among his other professional affiliations.

Mr. Bergin obtained his Juris Doctor from the University of Florida Levin College of Law in 1977, and he is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida.
