G. Ware Cornell, Jr.

G. Ware Cornell Jr. is the founder of the firm Cornell & Associates in Weston, Florida. Focusing his civil litigation practice on personal injury and labor and employment matters, he has handled some 200 trials in state and federal courts, most of them as first chair before juries. His successful track record and ethical standards have earned Mr. Cornell an AV-Preeminent* rating from Martindale-Hubbell.

After graduating from Emory University in 1972 with a Bachelor of Arts in history, Mr. Cornell earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Georgia School of Law in 1975. Prior to forming his firm in 1988, he clerked for a judge of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida and gained valuable experience through his tenure at three southern Florida litigation firms.

Since 1975, Mr. Cornell has been admitted to practice in both Florida and Georgia. He is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida and the Middle and Northern Districts of Georgia, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit and the Supreme Court of the United States.

Certified in civil trial practice by the Board of Legal Specialization and Education of The Florida Bar, Mr. Cornell is a senior fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America, a trial lawyer honorary society. Always seeking to stay current on developments in his field, he is an active member of the American, Federal and Broward County bar associations and the National Employment Lawyers Association. Mr. Cornell frequently lectures on trial practice and procedure as well as on general employment law matters.
